With nearly two decades of courtroom experience and fourteen years serving Siskiyou County. Mike DeArton brings the knowledge, perspective, and steady judgment the community expects from its judges.

Over the course of his career, Mike has served in the courtroom as a private attorney, a prosecutor, and a judicial officer, giving him a broad and balanced understanding of the justice system.

Early in his career, Mike represented individuals and families in a wide range of civil and criminal matters across Northern California. In those roles, he worked directly with clients in cases that mattered to people throughout the North State, appearing in both state and federal courts.

Mike later dedicated nearly a decade to public service as a Siskiyou County prosecutor, representing the People of the State of California and working closely with law enforcement and victims to ensure cases were handled fairly and responsibly.

For the past four years, Mike has served Siskiyou County as a Court Commissioner, presiding over a wide range of proceedings and making decisions that affect individuals, families, and the broader community. In that role, he has remained committed to applying the law thoughtfully while treating every person who comes before the court with fairness and respect.
